Rooted in rock + a love affair with blues and country, Kerosene Drifters shine light to a growing movement of blended music in Texas they call Drifter Rock. Led by husband and wife team Korey and Dana, the music of KD encapsulates heartfelt lyrics, soulful melodies, epic arrangements and blood harmonies. Utilizing a dense mix for their second album of acoustic and electric guitars, piano, organ, cello, bass and drums creates everything from a monumental wall of sound to spacious and eerie ballads. Having two lead vocalists allows for a wide range of sonic possibilities that make up the unique sound of Kerosene Drifters.
Singles “Redemption”, “Bad Mojo”, “Oh Gloria” and “Give In to Me (feat. J.R. Castillo)” from their full length sophomore album titled “The Gun Announced Go” were released with international airplay and charting. Joined by co-producer and Nashville recording artist J.R. Castillo, Kerosene Drifters collaborated for album #2 in songwriting with Lee Wenner and in the studio with cellist Jen Mulhern of Jenuine Cello and keyboardist Damian Sisca at Cibolo Studios in San Antonio, TX. Stuart Sullivan of Wire Recording (Sublime, Jimmie Vaughan, Butthole Surfers) worked his mixing magic and Terra Nova Mastering finished up the project. “The Gun Announced Go” was released on November 30, 2022 with album release shows held at Sam’s Burger Joint and Music Hall in San Antonio, TX and Love & War in Plano, TX.
Kerosene Drifters have shared the stage with Reckless Kelly and Micky & the Motorcars, along with national airplay on REELZ channel for their music video “Barb’s Wired”. They won Six Springs Original Song Competition in June 2022 and runner-up in the national competition Dream Night Talent Search for their live duo performance. The couple have made numerous television and radio appearances, along with physical and online interviews. When they’re not traveling doing what they love, they are home hanging with their family and animals, cooking, enjoy being in nature, supporting fellow musicians and drinking good tequila.
