Tony Ramey & Debbie Money are proof that yesterday’s tradition of great American Soul and Country Music lives on in a select few of the new artists today. Their show Crossroads and Vinyl features brand new music and the old familiar songs that influence it. Debbie Money is a Grand Ol’ Opry veteran performer who has had a career singing on stages with production companies all over the country, and Tony Ramey is a touring Troubadour who’s written songs for George Strait, Alabama, Doug Stone, Ray Price, Aaron Watson, and a host of other Country Music stars. The real treat here is seeing Savannah, their singer-songwriter daughter, well on her way to making her own mark in music history.
The idea of an independent, family style show came after their appearance together on the Louisiana Hayride a few years ago. With critical praises that Tony and Debbie were throwback artists (with a brand new flare) harkening Johnny Cash and June Carter, they began fostering the concept of “taking it on the road” and started performing their show as “Crossroads and Vinyl.” If you’re a Country, Texas Country, Red-Dirt, Soul, Folk, or Americana Music fan, you’ll be able to follow the threads of influence in the songs they sing and the stories they tell. This is a must-see experience that you’ll take with you and keep long after the show is over.
Their appearance at the Texan Theater is a rare treat since Tony tours nationally and the family corporate and private performance schedule makes it difficult to bring home. Last year, audience members filled the seats from Lubbock, San Antonio, Huntsville, Dallas, Houston, Conroe, Grapevine, Fort Worth, Waco, Austin, Longview, Louisiana, and Oklahoma. If you’re in Greenville, make sure you get your tickets early!
Doors open at 6:30 pm.
